Mountain Trails and guided hiking
Sungubala offers incredible hiking. Daily guided hikes are included in one's tariff and take you to the following desinations:-
- Hlolela (7100ft) and Sungubala (7000ft) summits
- Bishop's Inkaba and upper Sungubala contour
- Jackal Hill and lower Sungubala contour
- Echo Cave
- Cannibal Cavern - once inhabited by true cannibals
- Lone Rock - for unique Bushman Paintings, including Battle and hunting scenes
- Day walks to: Amphitheatre summit; Thukela Gorge; Gudu Falls and the Sungubala Challenge.

2 day Amphitheatre Summit
- A spectacular walk that is manageable to the average hiker. Take in Mont-aux-Sources (3282m) and stand on the edge of the Thukela Falls - the second highest in the world. Be blown away by the view through God's Window and observe Cape & Bearded Vultures.
Overnight 3 day Amphitheatre
- A very scenic route providing 3 long days of superb scenery, where one can always follow a path. It is not a technical route and takes one via the summit of the Little Berg to the summit of the Main Berg.
6 day Northern Traverse - Amphitheatre to Mnweni
- One of the most popular summit hikes that combines the dramatic cliffs of the Amphitheatre, the beauty of Madonna and her Worshippers and the remoteness of the Mnweni cutback.
